Rick Bahula
As Director of Standards and Quality Control at Taylor Leibow LLP, Rick's responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing the quality and performance of auditing and accounting engagements in the consulting and assurance services area of the firm. He stays current and up-to-date on the ever changing professional standards in today's environment and is involved in research and problem solving for specific client issues. He has experience in many areas including accounting, auditing, corporate and personal tax and business advisory services.
Rick graduated in 1995 from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics Degree with Honours Chartered Accountancy Option. Rick joined Taylor Leibow LLP as a co-op student in 1991 and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1996.
Born and raised in Simcoe, Rick currently resides in Stoney Creek. In his spare time, Rick enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, following NASCAR and is a member at Glendale where he is an avid golfer. Rick is on the Board of Directors and serves as President of the Junior Golf Tour of Hamilton/Halton.

Robert Ban
Robert became a Partner on January 1, 2007 and practices primarily in the Consulting and Assurance Services division where he provides accounting and taxation services to a diverse portfolio of clients from varied industries.
Robert joined Taylor Leibow in 1992, and later graduated from Brock University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Co-op Accounting. He attained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1997 and his Certified Management Consultant designation in 2002.
A Hamilton native, Robert currently resides in the east end of Hamilton with his wife and two young children. Robert is a member of the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Croatian Chamber of Commerce and is the current treasurer of PATH Employment.
When away from the office, Robert enjoys spending time with his family and participating in a variety of athletic events including golf, softball and ball hockey.

Erik Banders
Erik joined Taylor Leibow as a co-op student in January 2001, was hired on full time in January 2004 as a staff accountant. Erik manages complex engagements providing assurance and business advisory services to our clients. He enjoys working with his co-workers at Taylor Leibow and obtaining a breadth of knowledge of a variety of companies and industries.
Erik successfully passed the Uniform Final Examination in 2004 and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2005. In Sepember 2006, Erik was promoted to Manager, Assurance and Business Advisory Services.
Erik, who is a resident of Binbrook, enjoys playing many sports including volleyball, football, baseball and basketball.

Brad Borkwood
As the Manager of the Business Valuations and Litigation Support department, Brad has taken on responsibilities in financial and risk analysis, industry and company research, and preparation of detailed valuation and damage quantification reports. Brad is involved in meeting with clients, discussing their needs, presenting alternatives and ensuring that the engagement is best suited to reaching the client's goals.
Brad was appointed Manager in January, 2003, after accepting the opportunity to join the Business Valuations department in late 2001. He had initially joined Taylor Leibow in 1998 as a co-op student, became a full-time staff accountant in 2000, achieved the designation of Chartered Accountant in 2001 and achieved the designation of Chartered Business Valuator in 2005.
Brad has been very happy with being a part of the Business Valuation department, finding it challenging and interesting. He enjoys the variety of working with numerous companies in different industries, and preparing reports for any number of unique purposes. He also enjoys working with clients to produce the highest quality report in order to maximize their potential for success.
Brad and his wife reside in Burlington with their pug puppy named Rosey. In his spare time, Brad enjoys playing baseball, golf, biking, rollerblading, volleyball, walking his dog, hiking and playing the guitar and drums.

Michael Carnegie
A practice leader with Taylor Leibow since 1998, Mike practices solely in the areas of Business Valuations and Litigation Support. A member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, Mike has obtained the top professional designation awarded to litigation accountants and business valuators. He is also recognized by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants as an expert in business valuations, having been granted the CA·CBV designation.
Over his 15 years of consulting with entrepreneurs and other professional advisors, Mike has developed a unique process to ensure the firm's clients get the most value for the services of his department. Every client-service opportunity begins with a detailed assessment of the goals and objectives of the project. A suite of services is then designed to ensure deliverables created by Mike and his team will maximize the chances of success.
Mike has been recognized by Canadian courts as an expert in the fields of Business Valuations and Economic Analysis and can assist legal counsel in all aspects of the litigation process. He has a particular fondness for assisting entrepreneurs grow their business through strategic acquisitions and helping them realize the fruits of a lifetime of labour by planning and executing effective exit strategies.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Mike lives in Ancaster with his wife and their two children. His strong sense of community involvement manifests itself through community-based volunteering, particularly as the current treasurer of the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation.
When away from the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and competing in amateur athletics. As a champion swimmer, Mike holds several Ontario and National records in his age category and has won many medals at Provincial and National swimming competitions.

Peter Cross
Peter joined Taylor Leibow in 1993 and serves the firm as a member of it's Executive Committee. He implemented the establishment and development of our Burlington office and has overseen its growth in such diverse areas as Accounting, Auditing, Corporate Finance and Computer Technology. His accounting, audit and consulting practice includes a wide variety of owner-managed businesses from the local business community, particularly professionals and small business owners.
Peter graduated from the Queen's University CA program in 1974 and has been in practice ever since. He launched an accounting firm in the 1970's and built up his practice from 1982 onward prior to merging with Taylor Leibow .
As a community leader in sports, Peter has held executive positions with Rosedale Tennis Club, the YMCA, Ancaster Youth Soccer and Minor Hockey Associations. He was a soccer coach for many years and is currently the Treasurer for the Canadian Friends Service Committee.

Adam Furbacher
Adam joined Taylor Leibow as a co-op student in January 2001 and began full-time in January 2004 as a staff accountant involved with Assurance and Tax services.
In 2004, Adam successfully passed the UFE and obtained his CA designation. On March 1, 2005, Adam joined the tax department and recently completed part one and two of the CICA in-depth tax course. Effective October 1, 2007 he was promoted to the position of Tax Manager.
Adam finds it interesting working with different types of businesses and learning how they operate. He enjoys working with the friendly staff at Taylor Leibow.
Some of his pastimes include playing soccer, making various types of wine with his father and brother, and increasing his knowledge about viticulture, or vineyard care.

Tracey Hunter
Tracey was appointed Tax Manager in October 2004. As a Tax Manager with the firm, Tracey focuses on personal and corporate tax compliance, U.S. tax compliance and tax minimization strategies for our entrepreneurial client base. She is also involved in administering the Tax Department, as well as providing on-going professional development and training, in the area of tax, to the staff members of Taylor Leibow.
Tracey joined Taylor Leibow in January 2001 as a full-time staff accountant and was promoted to Assurance Manager in 2002.
Tracey originally graduated from Mohawk College. She then completed additional courses at McMaster University and finally obtained her CMA designation in 1995.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, gardening and cycling.

Nigel Jacobs
As Chief Executive Officer of Taylor Leibow, Nigel is responsible for firm management and leadership. He is extensively involved in practice management, strategic plan formulation, implementation, facilitation, change management, corporate governance, identification of new services, potential strategic alliances and human resource management. Nigel oversees the firm operations for both the Hamilton and Burlington offices of over 60 staff and 11 partners. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Town.
Nigel is an acknowledged expert in the practice management of professional services firms and continues to be involved in speaking engagements including leading benchmarking sessions, practice management seminars and international management panels. He has been quoted and profiled in international and national magazines. Nigel serves on the editorial advisory board of CPA Practice Management Forum, a North American Accounting Publication for which he writes articles on a regular basis. He is only the second Canadian to win the highly prestigious ACE (Achievement, Commitment and Excellence) award for the management of an accounting firm in 2004 from the Association of Accounting Administration (AAA). Nigel is the Director of Education of the AAA based in the USA and is the only Canadian on this Board. Nigel was elected by his peers to the Board of Governors of CMA Ontario in 2006 and is presently fulfilling his term of office.
Nigel also believes in participating and assisting in the local community and currently serves as the Director of Finance of Grindstone Church. Nigel is an active member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and has served as a member of the Business Awards Task Force for the past four years and was recently elected as a Director at the Chamber. He previously served on the Board of DARTS (Disabled and Aged Regional Transit System) for four years. Nigel feels that this is an excellent way of returning to the community which Taylor Leibow has served for many years.

Carolyn Jeyaseelan
Carolyn joined Taylor Leibow in January 1998 as part of a co-op program in accounting through Brock University. She joined the firm full-time effective January 2001, having graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting designation the previous month. She achieved the deans list with first class honours at Brock and achieved her CA designation in December 2002.
In early 2003, Carolyn was promoted to Manager. Her responsibilities are to manage the engagement process from scheduling and planning through to review. Carolyn also manages the staff and client files in adherence with the Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Canadian Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, Government Legislation and Taylor Leibow standards.
Carolyn resides in Stoney Creek with her husband. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and reading a good novel.

Kathy Lenart
As a Partner with Taylor Leibow LLP, Accountants and Advisors and President of Taylor Leibow Inc., Trustee in Bankruptcy, Kathy is responsible for the effective management of consumer and corporate bankruptcies and proposals.
Additionally, she has been an integral member of many successful corporate restructuring engagements. Since 1989 when she joined the firm, Kathy has played a prominent role in growing the bankruptcy division of the firm. She was admitted to partnership in 1998.
Having received her CA designation in 1991, Kathy is a Trustee in Bankruptcy, a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and a member of the finance committee of St. Paul's United Church.
A Hamilton native, Kathy currently lives in Stoney Creek with her husband and two young children. Kathy enjoys spending her free time with her family.

Darren McMullin
Darren McMullin joined the firm as an assurance manager on August 27, 2007.
Darren completed his B. Comm. (Honours) at McMaster University and is a Chartered Accountant. He has managed a portfolio of clients in various industries and not-for-profit organizations. Darren has been extensively involved in training and development of staff accountants and co-op students.
Prior to entering the accounting field, Darren studied and worked in the area of industrial engineering technology.
Darren moved to Hamilton from the East Coast at a young age and is dedicated to serving clients in the greater Hamilton area. In his spare time he enjoys coaching and playing hockey and spending time with his family.

Les Mitchnick
Les Mitchnick joined Taylor Leibow as an Associate in the insolvency department in November 2007. With over seventeen years experience in the insolvency area, Les provides a particular emphasis on assisting individuals in financial difficulty. He enjoys dealing with the public and is involved in proposals, bankruptcies and receiverships. He obtained a BA in Political Science from McMaster University and a Law degree from the University of Toronto.
Les lives in the Hamilton area and enjoys golf, horseback riding and is an annual sponsor for the CNIB gala dinner.

Michael Moore
Michael is a tax partner with Taylor Leibow and brings over 28 years of taxation, business and accounting experience to the firm. He joined Taylor Leibow as a partner in November 1988 and is responsible for the development of the firm's strategy to assist entrepreneurs in minimizing tax.
Michael is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate of McMaster University where he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce in 1972. Prior to joining Taylor Leibow, Michael held the position of Director of Taxation and Acquisitions for a large Canadian multinational corporation. Prior to that, he served as a tax manager for an international firm of chartered accountants in their Calgary and Hamilton offices. In addition, he has presented undergraduate courses in taxation at the University of Calgary and instructed practitioners through the Professional Development arm of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Michael is a member of the Estate Planners Council of Hamilton, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Tax and Estate Practitioners. He was active with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario having served on their Taxation Committee. Michael is presently a member of the Advisory Board of the Hamilton All-Star Jazz Band and is on the board of directors of Crime Stoppers of Hamilton Inc.

Muna Pirbhai
As a partner with Taylor Leibow since 1986, Muna has built a large clientele which profiles largely owner-managed businesses and in particular, auto dealerships. Drawing on three decades of accounting experience, he provides general accounting and auditing services for his business clients and for several charitable organizations.
Raised in Kenya, Muna moved to India to obtain his undergraduate university education. He graduated with a degree in Commerce from the University of Bombay in the 1960's. In 1965, he moved to London to gain his CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, which he received in 1969. He returned to Kenya for four years before finally moving to Canada in 1974.
Muna lives in Ancaster and enjoys being with his family. He has twin daughters, one pursuing a career in Dentistry and the other a career in accounting.

Harold Pomerantz
Harold joined Taylor Leibow in September 1963, became a Chartered Accountant in 1968 and partner in 1970. Harold joined Taylor Leibow in 1963 when the entire firm consisted of ten people.
Harold has served on the boards of many charitable organizations over the years. He is a member of the Adas Isreal Congregation of Hamilton. Harold is currently a board member of the Hamilton Jewish Federation and is the Chairman of its Public Affairs Committee. As Chairman of this committee, he has been called upon as a spokesperson for the Hamilton Jewish Community on television, radio and the local newspaper. Harold assures us he has no ambitions for a career in show business.
He has a diversified clientele with concentration in construction, rental properties and professional practices. He takes pride in providing personal service to his clients including financial, retirement and estate planning.
Born in Toronto, educated in Toronto and St. Catharines, Harold lives in Dundas with his wife. They are the parents of two grown children and are also proud grandparents. When he is not working, Harold enjoys spending time with his family.

Ivan Rudyk
As Director of Information Systems for Taylor Leibow, Ivan is responsible for the development and maintenance of internal applications and the creation of customized productivity tools that are used to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of all staff at Taylor Leibow. Additionally, Ivan has drawn upon this experience to develop and implement the Firm's paperless office policies and procedures.
Ivan started at Taylor Leibow in 1989 as a co-op student. He started full-time in 1992 after graduating from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Honours Chartered Accountancy Studies). He attained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1993.
In 2003, he became one of the first Chartered Accountants to attain an Information Technology specialist designation (CA•IT).
Ivan lives in Burlington and, when away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, mountain biking, playing golf and softball.

Darren Salmond
Darren joined Taylor Leibow during his co-op term from Brock University in January 1999 and was hired on full-time in 2002 as a staff accountant. He was promoted to Manager in October 2004 where he works in the area of Assurance and Taxation services.

Julie Savage
Julie joined the Insolvency department as Vice President of Taylor Leibow Inc. in November 2007. Julie's field of specialization is consumer and corporate bankruptcies, proposals and receiverships.
She obtained her BA at York University and became a licensed trustee in 1999. Julie also has her CIRP designation and has been practicing in the insolvency area for 20 years.
What Julie enjoys most about her job is the constant learning experience and not knowing what each day will bring.
Julie lives in Burlington with her husband. She has two older step children who have now left the nest. Her interests include golf, hiking and walking with her dog.

Michael Thompson
Mike is an assurance and advisory partner and is focused on assisting owner-operated business persons in developing strategy, increasing profitability, managing growth and ensuring effective tax minimization techniques are utilized. Mike's value proposition is helping owners build the value of their business.
Mike Graduated from University of Manitoba in 1988 with Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree and went on to article with National CA firm. He received his CA designation in 1991 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba and later joined large regional firm as a Manager in the Winnipeg office. He was promoted to partner in 1997. After making the decision to move to Ontario, Mike joined Taylor Leibow in 1998 and became a partner on January 1, 2000. Mike is on the Board and is currently acting Treasurer of the Burlington Art Centre. He is a Committee member with Burlington Economic Development Corporation and keeps active as a member of the Halton men's Hockey League.
When not advising entrepreneurs, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter at the Burlington YMCA and has a passion for golf and fishing.

Paul Van Riezen
As a Manager with Taylor Leibow LLP, Accountants and Advisors, Paul practices primarily in the consulting and assurance services division where he provides accounting and taxation services to a diverse portfolio of clients from varied industries. Paul enjoys working with owner-operated businesses and looking for opportunities to assist them in achieving their financial objectives.
Paul graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1982 with a Bachelor of Mathematics in the co-operative Accounting program. He attained his Chartered Accountant's designation in 1983.
In 2004, Paul satisfied all of the requirements to become a licenced Certified Financial Planner.
Paul currently resides on the Hamilton "mountain" with his wife and his two sons. When away from the office, Paul enjoys spending time with his family camping, water skiing and snow skiing.
Paul also enjoys being active in the community as a member of the Hamilton Rotary Club.

Richard Weber
Richard became a Tax Partner on January 1, 2008 after joining Taylor Leibow in June, 2006 as a Senior Tax Manager. He is responsible for rendering Canadian and cross-border tax advisory services to corporations, partnerships, trusts and individuals.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce which he completed at the University of Toronto and earned his CA designation in 1997. He completed the Canadian Securities course and completed and was a Group Leader for the CICA In-depth Tax Courses.
He enjoys the culture of the firm, the variety and challenge in his work, the fast pace and the opportunity to mentor staff members at Taylor Leibow.
When away from the office, his hobbies include playing hockey, golfing (he maintains the best wood - in his golf bag is the pencil (and eraser)), lifting weights, playing as well as listening to rock music.

David Weland
A partner with Taylor Leibow since 1985, David provides consulting, tax and assurance services to small and medium-sized, owner-operated businesses and to a diverse group of not-for-profit organizations.
David's primary professional focus has been on tax planning and profitability issues for owner-managed businesses and on accounting and fund-raising concerns for not-for-profit groups. Over the years, he has amassed considerable experience in these sectors.
Born and raised in Burlington, David is involved with various charitable organizations, both at the board level and on a volunteer basis. He is an active member of his church and in the Burlington Chapter of the Christian Business Men's Committee of Canada. During leisure times, David enjoys being with his family and playing tennis and golf.

Jason Willis
In August of 2002, Jason joined Taylor Leibow and was shortly thereafter promoted to Controller. On January 1, 2007 Jason was promoted to the role of Director of Operations. He is responsible for managing the internal operations of the firm from the accounting and budgeting, managing the firm payroll, benefit package, facilities and assists the CEO with human resource management as well as the firm marketing. Jason was extensively involved with the expansion of our Hamilton Office.
He enjoys working with his colleagues and being a part of a successful and progressive firm.
Raised in South Africa, Jason graduated from the University of South Africa with a Bachelor of Accounting Science. He earned his CMA designation in 2006 and is a certified member of the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario. Jason is also a member of the Association of Accounting Administrators (AAA) and the Treasurer for the AAA Canadian Chapter.
Jason currently resides in Beamsville with his wife and two children and is active in his community. Some of his free time can be spent with his family and being outdoors golfing, cycling or hiking.

Stephen Wiseman
Stephen has overseen the growth of the firm from a small local Hamilton office into one of the largest regional independent firms of business consultants and chartered accountants in the Greater Hamilton and Burlington area. A past-President of DFK Canada, Vice-President of the DFK Americas and Executive Board member of DFK International, he has taken a leadership role in expanding Taylor Leibow's presence on an international basis.
Prior to joining Taylor Leibow in 1976, Stephen held academic positions at McMaster University, University of Saskatchewan and University of Ottawa. He earned his MBA from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Arts degrees in Economics from the University of Ottawa.
He is currently a Director and the Chair of the Audit Committee for two TSX
public companies. Stephen has also served as a member of the Small Business Practices committee and the Practice Inspection Committee at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
He lives in Dundas and enjoys being with his wife, children and grandchildren as well as keeping current by reading periodicals relating to technology, business news and science.

Steve Young
Steven joined Taylor Leibow as a co-op student in January 2000 and was hired on full-time in January 2003 as a staff accountant. He was promoted to Manager in October 2004 and works in the area of Assurance and Taxation services.
